Grasmere Sports returns for a fun-filled August bank holiday
Caravanners heading to the Lake District this August Bank Holiday are in for a true Cumbrian treat as the Grasmere Lakeland Sports and Show returns on Sunday, 24 August.
One of the region’s most-loved traditional events, the show blends outdoor sport, culture and family fun – all set against the stunning backdrop of the Lakeland Fells.

The perfect August bank holiday
Kicking off at 10am with the ceremonial ringing of the bell and the national anthem played by a brass band (featuring a stilt-walking drummer), the day quickly begins.
What to expect
Caravanners should expect everything from track races to Cumberland and Westmorland wrestling, hound trails across the hills and competitive fell running that finishes with the Senior Guides Race at 4:10pm.
You will also be able to enjoy a packed programme of family activities, including circus skills workshops, jazz band performances and the popular Wonder Wheelers with their collection of bikes.
Dog owners can enter their pets in the relaxed and fun dog show and even the more skeptical in the crowd can enjoy a slice of showground history with ‘Sam the Scam’, who’ll be demonstrating historic games like the Three Shell Game and Find the Lady.
Ticket information
Early bird tickets are available until 30 June at £9 for adults, £5 for children, and £20 for families. From July, prices rise slightly, with adult tickets £12 and family tickets £28. On-the-day entry will be £15 for adults and £33 for families.
