According to new figures released this week, the surge in visitors follows the launch of the region’s first-ever Destination Management Plan (DMP), which brought together city, town and rural tourism strategies.
The result: a sustainable, year-round tourism boom and a golden opportunity for caravanners to enjoy everything the region has to offer.

For those seeking an eco-friendly escape, Flaxton Meadows offers a peaceful setting with hardstanding, fully serviced pitches, all powered by renewable energy.
Facilities are excellent, with accessible WCs and private family bathrooms, plus an on-site bar. It’s just 20 minutes from York and well placed for exploring the Howardian Hills and surrounding countryside.
You can also sample delicious pizza from G Papa J’s Pizza, served between 5pm and 8.30pm Tuesday to Sunday from the site's own Airsteam caravan.
