The estimated value of the vehicle is £40,000 to £50,000, with the van notable both for its celebrity ownership and for its desirable year and various upgrades.
Howard Donald has owned and enjoyed the campervan for the last few years.
Its interior has been professionally restored to replicate the specification and style of the original Sundial layout, retaining the period Sundial emblems and cooler badge, and finished with sea green fabric. He has also signed the interior, adding a personal touch for its next custodian.
Previously found in Colorado in 2007, Howard imported it to the UK, where it underwent various restoration processes and sympathetic upgrades by Sundial Campers.
said Howard Donald, via his Instagram
It saddens me to sell this but I never used it! I even look at it now and think what am I doing?!
There have also been various practical upgrades, including a cold-water sink, compressor fridge, three-quarter-width rock-and-roll bed, 240V hook-up and a two-person fold-out roof tent.

This is a wonderful example of why the Volkswagen campervan remains so loved. It has the look, the usability, the Sundial details and the added appeal of Howard Donald's ownership. It is a special campervan with real personality, and we are proud to bring it to auction at the BRDC Classic, Silverstone.
