Put your Land Rover to the test on our purpose-built off-road course

The Terrafirma Off-Road Course is one of the headline attractions at The Big Land Rover Fest, giving Land Rover owners the opportunity to tackle a purpose-built course designed to showcase the incredible capability of their vehicles.

Whether you're a seasoned off-roader or completely new to driving off-road, the course has been created to provide a fun, challenging and memorable experience in a safe and controlled environment.

Featuring a variety of obstacles, climbs, descents and technical sections, the course will put both driver and vehicle through their paces while demonstrating exactly why Land Rovers have earned their legendary reputation.

The course is open to both campers and day visitors, with pre-bookable sessions available throughout the weekend.

The off-road course is in the 'add-on' section when booking your camping pitch.

The Story Behind the Course

From the first plans being drawn up to the final obstacle being completed, our four-part video series follows the creation of the Terrafirma Off-Road Course.

Watch how the course evolved, meet the team behind the project and discover what it takes to build an off-road experience worthy of the Land Rover name.

The First Drivers Take On The Challenge

Before opening the course to festival visitors, we invited a selection of well-known personalities from the Land Rover and automotive world to be among the first to experience it.

From television presenters and designers to lifelong Land Rover enthusiasts, each brought their own driving style and perspective as they tackled the obstacles, climbs and technical sections for the very first time.

Watch their experiences below and see how they got on.

Fitter Matt Tries the Course

"A 20-year-old car on half worn-out tyres... the traction control on this thing is unreal."

Fitter Matt joined us at our Influencer Day to put his 4.2 Supercharged Range Rover through its paces on the brand-new off-road course at The Big Land Rover Fest.

What makes this run even more impressive? The Range Rover is over 20 years old, running road-biased tyres and still manages to tackle steep climbs, slippery descents, sand sections and technical obstacles with ease.

Despite torrential rain making conditions incredibly greasy, Matt was blown away by what the Range Rover could achieve and proved that you don't need a heavily modified off-roader to enjoy the course.

Think your Land Rover could handle it?

Max McMurdo Takes On The Challenge

"This is one of the most fun things I've ever done in my life."

Designer, TV presenter and Land Rover enthusiast Max McMurdo joined us for an exclusive preview of The Big Land Rover Fest's brand-new off-road course.

Despite working in the automotive industry and previously working for Rover, Max had never actually driven a Land Rover off-road before.

To make things even more interesting, we handed him the keys to a £510 Freelander and sent him around the course to tackle steep climbs, hill descents, the Bomb Hole and technical off-road obstacles.

The result? One of the biggest smiles of the day.

Defender vs The Course

I definitely thought I was going to drive around that bit... and it just went through it."

Maisie brought her eye-catching yellow Defender 90 to our Influencer Day to tackle the brand-new off-road course at The Big Land Rover Fest.

Running 33-inch tyres and built for adventure, the Defender took on steep climbs, technical sections, sandy turns, elephant footprints and the infamous Bomb Hole.

Maisie shares her thoughts on the course, what modifications she's planning next and why she thinks visitors are going to love the challenge when the festival arrives.
