Full Review

The Trend has established itself as one of the best-sellers in the Dethleffs stable, as well as being the entry point for first-time motorhomers. Now, the company has added the Trend Edition, aimed to appeal to an even wider part of the market.

Launched at the end of August, the Trend Edition is described by the Erwin Hymer Group company as ‘combining three of the most popular low-profile layouts with extensive standard equipment and an unbeatable price-performance ratio.’

Keeping things simple, the Trend Edition is offered only as a low-profile (no overcab or A-class types) with a white cab. Inside, the furniture is Rosario Cherrywood and the upholstery is Bellavista – again without alternatives. It is priced three grand below the equivalent standard Trend.

Where the Trend Edition gains is in terms of specification, especially for an entry-level vehicle. Soft-close top locker doors, seven-zone mattresses, a wide (70cm) entrance door, GRP (hail-resistant) roof, large fridge/freezer (142 litres) and a three-burner cooker are all standard and a drop-down bed over the lounge is optional.

The layouts available are the T 6717 EB (6.96m long, single beds), T 7057 DBM (7.41m, island bed) and T 7057 EB (7.41m, twin beds). All are built on Fiat Ducato with the lower Camping-Car chassis and the 120bhp Euro 6d engine as standard.

Each model comes with an L-shaped lounge seat (plus a side seat on the longer models), an overcab sunroof, an awning light, twin garage loading doors, a leather steering wheel, dashboard with chrome ringed instruments and a large skylight over the lounge.

However, the options list has been kept deliberately short. As well as engine upgrades and the new nine-speed Fiat automatic, Dethleffs is offering flush-fit side windows, an electric drop-down bed, Isofix, and an insulated waste water tank. If you want to go further with bespoke specification, then go for the standard Trend.
