Located just five minutes from the Port of Calais, both shops sit just off the A16 motorway, meaning British and French tourists alike can make use of the zone. A fresh water point is available at Calais Vins and Olivier Vins for motorhomes to top up their tanks.
By arriving at 6pm, they can enjoy a night's rest and fill up on wine and beer while taking advantage of the tax exemption. The next morning, the adjacent bakery will prepare a last French breakfast – with a croissant on the menu, of course. And to top it all off, the best cheesemaker in France is right next door to Calais Vins!
Under French law, as soon as a footboard is deployed, a vehicle is legally considered camping and must use a designated area. This is quickly resolved by the authorised car park.
Both shops are open daily from 9am to 7pm (10am–6pm Sundays and French bank holidays). Arriving between 5pm and 7pm gives travellers time to shop before closing and settle in for the night.
