Trigano Group looks to buy Adria

The massive French motorhome manufacturing group, Trigano, has confirmed it has entered into exclusive negotiations with the aim of acquiring the Adria Group – a Slovenian motorhome and caravan manufacturer that is well established in the UK

The talks are with the shareholders of Protej d.o.o and are aimed at allowing Trigano to purchase 99,08% of the company. Protej d.o.o is a Slovenian holding company that owns ACH d.d., which is the mother company of the Adria Group.

This means, if the talks are successful, the Trigano Group will acquire Adria.

Established in 1965, Adria is one of the most recognisable brand names in the European motorhome and caravan market.

The company manufactures and markets motorhomes, caravans and mobile homes. It has a distrubtion company in the east of England and sells its motorhomes, campervans and caravans through a network of British dealers.

In a statement, Trigano said the Adria Group is profitable (its current operational profitability is comparable to that of Trigano’s), employs around 1,500 people and achieved a turnover close to €350m (£290m) in 2016.

If the acquisition is successful, Trigano said it will generate significant synergies (purchasing, industrial and commercial). It also said the talks are part of Trigano’s strategy of development “through external growth in the fields of leisure vehicles, accessories for leisure vehicles and trailers”.

It added that financing of the acquisition “will be ensured by already available credit facilities granted by Trigano’s banking pool”.
