BRITAIN’S largest motorhome manufacturer has announced new products for 2008.They include a new baby Bolero. Swift’s first low-profile range has been a great
sales success in 2007 and a new smaller version – both shorter and narrower – joins the line-up for the new season.
The Swift Bolero 600 EK is only 5.90m (19ft 4in) long and 2.26m (7ft 5in) wide and has a traditional rear kitchen layout with side-facing settees up front.
As such it is a pure two-berth (with just two travel seats) and it is a direct rival for the Autocruise Starfire, Auto-Sleeper Nuevo and Auto-Trail Tracker EK.
The 600 EK has the same silver side walls and big overcab sunroof as larger Boleros but misses out on the roof rails and recessed awning. Standard power unit is the 2.2-litre 100 Multijet and prices are expected to start at between £35,000 and £36,000.
Sister models – Bessacarr E510 and Ace Airstream 600 EK – will also be available.
Even more newsworthy is the new Swift Voyager overcab coachbuilt range – along with the Bessacarr E600 series and Ace Adventurer.
At prices in the low to mid-£40,000s, the Voyager gives Swift a new mid-range product for families.
Swift are also adding an alternative layout for the tag-axle derivatives of the Kon-Tiki and Bessacarr E700. The lounge and kitchen are the same as the Kon-Tiki 669 featured in the June issue Touring Test, but across the back is a high-level transverse double bed mounted over a full-sized garage with twin external doors. The new layout allows a scooter to be carried, while inside there is extra storage in the bedroom area.
