Sales growth for Bailey
Bailey of Bristol has reported sales growth for its motorhome range, with a year-on-year increase of 7.5%.A caravan manufacturer for over 65 years, Bailey entered the motorhome market in 2011 with its Approach SE range. It quickly enjoyed success with the Approach SE 625 winning the 2013 Non-Fixed Bed Motorhome of the Year award.
In late-2013, it expanded its line-up with the introduction of the Approach Autograph range of coachbuilts.
Bailey Marketing Director, Simon Howard, said: “Sales of new Bailey Approach Autograph motorhomes have been extremely encouraging since the range launch in September 2013. In 2013 motorhome sales accounted for 17.5% of our total annual turnover. Our target is to manufacture 1,000 motorhomes this calendar year… based upon this target I would anticipate that it will be closer to 25% in 2014.”
This figure, however, is based on Peugeot’s ability to supply an adequate number of base vehicles, says Bailey.
Supply notwithstanding, the Bristol-based manufacturer has plans to further expand its range. Simon added: “Based upon this success we will be looking to expand our motorhome range further in future, as there is clearly an appetite for Bailey-built vehicles. At this stage we would be too early to commit to firm dates of specific ranges but watch this space for further developments.”
