Prince George gets his first campervan

Prince Charles was presented with a VW Camper themed toy box for his Grandson’s 1st birthday when he met the people behind Fun Furniture Collection

Mark Turner and Llinos Pritchard, founders and creatives of Fun Furniture Collection were invited to attend the opening of the Middleport Pottery Project in Stoke-on-Trent. The Prince’s Regeneration Trust has invested over £9million in the building and surrounding site since 2011. Arriving by canal boat ‘The Lindsay’, HRH met the donors and supporters who had made the restoration of Middleport Pottery possible.

He also met six local companies brought together to demonstrate the depth and range of export activity in the region and to learn more about how each company been helped to export overseas by UK Trade & Investment.

Mark and Llinos commented afterwards, “Meeting HRH The Prince of Wales was an overwhelmingly proud, privileged and honoured experience. He was so friendly, put us at ease and had interest in our products and was very grateful for the gift of our Large Campervan Toy Chest we presented for Prince George’s 1st Birthday.”

Fun Furniture Collection combines a passion for motor vehicles with the love of furniture design, resulting in a very unique collection of bespoke, hand-made furniture for children (and possibly some adults).

The large toy chest (above) measures 112cm long x 55cm wide x 52cm high. It is made from painted or unpainted plywood and comes as a flatpack.

The 'Pop Top' VW Camper bed (below) measures 235cm long x 107cm wide x 160cm high (with the roof elevated). Many variations on this bed, and other vehicles, are available. See their website for details

Mark and Llinos are also no strangers to the world of RVs and motorhomes as they spend a lot of the time in their 38ft Fleetwood Bounder. (below)
