Park4night, one of Europe’s foremost motorhome and campervan stopover websites, has developed a new natural stopover network, geoSpot

All stopovers that are part of this scheme have to be located on previously unused private land that is not already mentioned on the existing park4night website (or any other platform). A donation box will be present to all overnighters to leave a fee (geoTip) for the landowner.

Those using the stopover should also use the code on the box to signal their presence, with a limit of three units per geoSpot and a maximum stay of two nights. Anyone using these stopovers needs to be self-contained with toilets and bins on board.

There are currently 20 locations signed up in France, Portugal, Spain, Poland and Bulgaria, with more signing up. All need to be private, undeveloped and preferably flat, as well as being away from residential areas and with a passable access road.

Oriane Louis, geoSpot Project Manager, says,

The network is growing slowly but surely. We're getting a lot of applications from owners, but, unfortunately, we have to turn down quite a few of them because their land doesn't always meet our conditions (away from homes, in nature and with an independent and passable access path by vehicle). We make it a point of honour to make sure that they do, so that we can maintain our differentiation from other categories of spots.

park4night+ members (a subscription costs €9.99 per year) will get access to these free of charge until the end of this year, using the code on the geoSpot website.
