Free motorhome stopovers in Chianti wine region

The Chianti Classico Wine Consortium and Italian motorhome manufacturer, Laika, have launched ‘Chiantishire en Plein Air’, a project dedicated to lovers of motorhomes and good wine, who can stay in the vineyards of Gallo Nero
The Chianti region, where Chianti Classico wine is made, has introduced the scheme where motorhomers can book a space in one of the Chianti Classico wineries taking part in the initiative to park there free for 24 hours. Once there, they will be able to buy and drink good wine while relaxing in their motorhome.
This website has a list of ‘camper vans friendly’ businesses willing to host motorhomes.
For those who don’t yet own a motorhome, you can hire one from Laika dealer in Pisa.
A special sticker will also be applied to the hired Laika motorhomes to identify these "camper van friendly" companies.
