Morelo reveals luxury line up for 2023
German luxury liner manufacturer, Morelo, has released the first details of its 2023 line-up
As well as new layouts in its Loft Liner series, the manufacturer is adding rear lounge layouts to its overcab range and introducing a new flagship Grand Empire.
The big news – in both senses – is the arrival of the new Grand Empire. There are no pictures yet (see the supplement coming up with the November issue of MMM for pictures and details of all the 2023 launches), but what we do know is the new liner will be 12m long and weigh a massive 26 tonnes, giving a possible payload of over 11 tonnes! It is powered by a 12.8-litre, 530bhp Mercedes engine on the Actros chassis.
The Grand Empire 120 GSO has a rear garage that can accommodate a Mini Cooper. Its third axle has been designed as a steering axle to improve driving on motorways, offer a smaller turning circle and less of an overhang when manoeuvring.
We’ve been assured that this model has most of the kit you’ll need as standard, so you shouldn’t need to go much over the €777,500 (£654,765) price tag, or €827k (£696,500) for the slide-out mode! That kit includes air suspension and fully automatic levelling as well as lithium batteries, solar panels, digital camera mirror system (and BirdView), Active Brake Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Roll Control Assist, Distance Keeping Assist and traffic sign recognition.
Changes to the Loft Liner range – one of Morelo’s more entry-level ranges – see two new models for the coming season, the 82MQ and the 100GQ, both of which have an island bed at the rear with a central washbasin sitting on the wall at the foot of the bed.
The main difference between the two is that the 8.28m 82MQ has a scooter garage below the bed while the 9.99m 100GQ can fit a car up to 3.55m long (like a Fiat 500) in its garage.
Prices start from €273,500 (£230k) for the Loft Liner 82MQ and €343k (£289k) for the 100GQ.
Finally, as hinted last year when the Palace overcabs (Palace Alkoven to give them their official title) were reintroduced, Morelo has added two rear lounge layouts to the line-up, the Palace Alkoven 80RL and the 88DL.
The smaller 80RL gains a traditional U-shaped lounge, while the 88DL has what is called a C-shaped lounge. The central kitchens differ slightly, too (the 88DL has a spacious L-shaped unit while the 80RL has two parallel units either side of the central aisle). A more compact washroom is on offer for the 80RL, while both offer drop-down single beds above the cab.
Prices start from €231,900 (£194k) for the 80RL, and €239,900 (£202k) for the 88DL.
