Mercedes Crosswind Assist as standard

bb20c580-6266-4602-bf63-4e1c447f3a15
From July 2015, all Mercedes Sprinters will get Crosswind Assist as standard.

The system has been retested specifically for each variant since its launch in larger panel vans. Crosswind Assist takes into account parameters such as vehicle speed, vehicle load and steering characteristics.

Its sensors detect forces acting on the vehicle through side wind gusts – such as those encountered when overtaking a truck – and are activated from 50mph. Through a brake actuation via ESP at the wheels of the vehicle side facing the wind, a yaw motion develops and counteracts the side wind.

Auto-Sleepers and Hymer are offering 2015 coachbuilt motorhomes on the latest Sprinter.
