Lunar brings back classic motorhome names with new launches

621a7272-aa79-476b-9ae5-3dadc8ffa18b

Telstar and Roadstar were models produced by Lunar Motorhomes in the past but have now seen a rebirth with the launch of three new models at the Motorhome & Caravan Show. All three models are built on the Renault Master with 2.3-litre, 130bhp engine and have metallic silver cabs with sleek, white accommodation sporting dynamic graphics. The cab features a multi functional steering wheel, MP3 connectivity, Bluetooth and daytime running lights.

The Telstar is a two-berth model measuring 6.4m in length and 2.31m in width (with awning light).  It sits on a licence-friendly 3,500kg chassis giving 605kg of payload, though there’s an option to have the chassis rated at 3,800kg, giving 905kg of payload. The key feature is the U-shaped rear lounge which is finished in Erin Pewter soft furnishings along with Timeo Pine and Mussel lockers with chrome handles. The carpet is removable with vinyl flooring beneath. At night, the lounge then converts into a double or two singles, each measuring 1.83m in length.

A fully-equipped kitchen offers an Aspire 2 cooker with 42-litre oven, separate grill and electric plate, Dometic cooker hood with integrated light, Dometic fridge with freezer compartment and a smart stainless steel sink built into a textured slate effect work surface. The washroom features a corner sink, Thetford electronic toilet, mirror and large fully lined shower. The Telstar is priced at £46,999 with a £1,999 recommended retailer delivery charge. Features such as cab air con, cruise control, twin-reversing camera, TV aerial and 800W microwave oven come courtesy of the Star Pack which costs an additional £1,999.

For the other new brand, the Roadstar, there will be two new models initially, with Lunar confirming that there would be further additions to both line ups next year. For now there’s the TI with a rear island bed and side washroom, and the Roadstar SB, which has fixed single beds and a rear washroom.

The Roadstars are 7.7m long with a width of 2.31m (including awning light) and offer up to four berths. Both models have a half-dinette front lounge finished in Erin Pewter soft furnishings with the same lockers as the Telstar. There are also scatter cushions and carpets in complementary colours.

At night, the front lounge in the Roadstar TI converts into a double bed with the main sleeping feature courtesy of the fixed, island double bed at the rear that measures a maximum length of 1.83m. The Roadstar SB also has a front lounge, that converts into a double, while at the rear are twin single beds, measuring up to 1.91m in length.

As with the Telstar, the kitchens have an Aspire 2 cooker with 42-litre oven, grill and electric plate, Dometic cooker hood with inbuilt light, a built in microwave, Dometic fridge with freezer compartment and a smart stainless steel sink set within a textured grey slate effect worktop.

The washrooms offer a top-mounted sink with swivel tap, a vanity unit finished in Timeo Pine with integrated ambient lighting and a fully lined shower cubicle with black floor.

The Roadstar TI is plated at 3,800kg with a payload of 506kg and costs £59,999 plus delivery charge as before. The weight for the SB has yet to be announced but it will cost the same as the TI.
