Laika's offerings for 2024 include the all-new Kosmo range, featuring both low-profiles (L) and A-class models (H), adopting the product identifiers from the rest of the Laika range. Kosmo low-profiles can also be ordered with or without an electric drop-down bed in the lounge

The design of the Kosmo has been developed in association with automotive design company, GFG Style, which also collaborated with Laika for the 2023-season Kreos low-profile and the new A-class.

New Ecovip models come in campervans, low-profiles (L) and A-classes (H) – all adopt Italian flag decals on the side mirror casings and the low-profiles can be specified with a metallic black cab as an option.

What's more, the Kreos L low-profile is joined by an A-class Kreos H for the coming season.

For 2024, no matter what range, a combination of five different types of seat can be coordinated with 15 different choices for backrests and scatter cushions, although standard fabrics will have a set combination.

Just last year, Laika introduced its new flagship motorhome. No simple redesign, this was an all-new motorhome that was radically different from the existing Laika line-up. Unusually for a luxury motorhome, it was a low-profile, not an A-class. Well, that’s maybe because Laika was saving its fully integrated model, the H 5109, for this year.

It shares the same length as the low-profile L 5009, along with a very similar floorplan, the key difference being the bigger, much more open lounge area thanks to the wider cab that the A-class front offers.

You get the 180bhp Fiat Ducato engine as standard. The same company, GFG Style, that helped with the low-profile concept has had a hand in the design of this new model. That includes full LED headlights that incorporate indicators and diffused light DRLs, along with a glass-fibre grille and an extra-large windscreen with smaller A-pillars and specially designed wipers.

The front incorporates acoustic insulation to reduce engine noise in the cab. This is topped by a dashboard made of soft-touch plastics adorned with faux leather panels.

The driver’s side door is wider than in previous Laika A-class models and has an electric window and operates within the central locking system.

The windscreen has an electrically operated blind, which can be used for complete blackout, privacy on site (open at the top), or as a sunshade when driving. This is controlled through a panel next to the driver, along with the side mirror adjustment and electric step. There’s also a dedicated recess for the rear view camera to protect against glare when reversing.

Above the cab is an electric drop-down bed, which has Froli springs for extra comfort. The unique feature here is that the bed also has headboards that appear when the bed is lowered, as well as storage space, adjustable LED spots and USB sockets.

Like the Kreos, the new Kosmo’s design is the result of a collaboration between Laika and GFG Style, a company founded by Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro, who are famous in the field of automotive design.

So, the interior of the new Kosmo sees a palette of contrasting colours: grey, stone, green and glossy white. Then, outside, all Kosmo models get a new rear panel with prominence given to the Laika logo and every Laika now adopts just two exterior colours: black and white.

Based on the Fiat Ducato 2.2-litre 140bhp, all models adopt high-density Styrofoam XPS insulation. You also get the Hartal Premium XL habitation door that’s part of the central locking system. A rooflight over the cab and aluminium-framed windows complete the look.

This L 319 will be one of three low-profile models and two A-classes. It has single beds at the rear above a garage.

Introduced last year, this campervan offers a rear lounge, one of few Europeans to do so. That lounge can make into two singles or a large transverse double bed. This year, though, you can order this model with a pop-top, offering a second double bed in the roof. The pop-top on all Ecovip campervans will only be available in black (no matter which of the four body colours you pick).

For more payload, this 645 (and the other Ecovip campers) can be ordered on the Heavy chassis, while habitation batteries have been moved from under the cab seat further back to help with axle load – which is particularly vital if you opt for the pop-top apparently.

Other details include a microfibre trim on the ceiling, which helps reduce road rattles and gives a plusher, cosier feel, and a new support for the lounge table to make it more solid when fully extended.
