New from Knaus in 2026
New models for 2026
Knaus reveals 2026 line-up after difficult year
Knaus Tabbert, the German leisure vehicle manufacturer, has revealed new models and layouts for the coming season despite going through what its new CEO called a turbulent few months.
At the company’s new-season launch at its HQ in Jandelsbrunn, Germany, Knaus said the event would reveal not only new leisure vehicles and concepts, but also reveal what the company is all about.
“The past year has shown that change is not always convenient,” a company spokesman said, referring to the temporary shutdown of production in early 2025, the departure of its entire management team – some of whom were under police investigation – and the huge level of overproduction and overstocking, which its new management team is still working to resolve. But, despite this, Knaus said it is still entering the 2026 season in a very strong position with many of its models very popular across Europe and the UK.
For the coming season, Knaus has slashed the number of models and layouts it will sell and is focusing only on the best-selling layouts in each range. It is also removing any confusion about where its three brands sit in the market – Weinsberg is its entry-level brand, Knaus is the mid-market brand and Tabbert (caravans only) is the premium brand. This means we will, for example, see far fewer Weinsberg models competing with Knaus models.
A spokesperson commented
“Knaus Tabbert has used this process to realign itself with a revised product philosophy, leaner structures and a clear focus on efficiency and customer benefits.
“In 2026, the company will continue to bring innovative technical solutions, new comfort approaches and future-proof vehicle concepts to the road – but with more clarity, pragmatism and a focus on the essentials.”
BoxTime campervan
And, indeed, it has brought innovative technical solutions to buyers for the 2026 season in the form of a new campervan range.
Most significant among its new models is this new range of Knaus campervans called BoxTime. This new range has few surprises in terms of layouts – there are four layouts, all with a rear transverse double bed and front lounge – but the new range does have two significant innovations.
The first is the inclusion of what Knaus calls its Kompact and XL Bathrooms in all BoxTime models (actually all Knaus campervans – both the new BoxTime and the BoxLife range – will now be fitted with these new washrooms), which have a swivel wall to allow a full shower room to be created and then folded over to reveal a washbasin and toilet. The swivel wall concept is not new to the market but it is in Knaus campervans, where we will see all sub-6m-long models fitted with the Kompact system, which has a cut-away in the swivel wall meaning some of the loo protrudes into the shower area, while all longer models get the XL version, which has a full-length swivel wall.
The second is an interior moulding system that saves as much as a massive 60kg of weight, which in itself is impressive, but the new mouldings also offer significant insulation and sound-deadening qualities.
In addition, the technology, of which Knaus has exclusivity, allows the interior mouldings to be shaped to whatever form is desired, as well as having various facings, which allow it to have a felt-like finish in one area, a smooth finish in another and a finish resembling a dashboard in another.
It is this similarity in form and look to automotive finishes that Knaus is using as a marketing aspect of the new BoxTime, which is being characterised by its automotive and dynamic appearance, as well as its lightweight properties and its special thermal and acoustic insulation.
“The result is a living space that becomes an experience,” it said. “More space, more possibilities: despite the comparable volume, the slimmer wall units create a space gain of around 70mm for more freedom of movement between the kitchen and bathroom.”
The material used is also 100% recyclable and, because of its closed-cell material, it also absorbs shocks effectively, protects furniture and structure and noticeably reduces vibrations.
In terms of layouts, there are four available at launch: the 540 MQ, 600 MQ, 630 ME and 630 MX. All have rear double bed layouts with a central galley on one side and washroom opposite and, at the front, a half-dinette. All are built on the manual 130hp Fiat Ducato as standard and vary only in length, the type of washroom and specification, with the 630 MX being the longest and best equipped – it comes with an electric rising bed as standard, which is available only as an option in the other three models.
BoxLife Campervan
In other launch news from Knaus, there is a revised BoxLife range of campervans. Effectively, Knaus has dropped the BoxLife Pro and the standard BoxLife ranges and created a single BoxLife range of campervans.
What makes these campervans new is not just the fact they have a new package line called Platinum Selection but also, as previously mentioned, they all get Knaus’ swivel wall washrooms.
There are five layouts – 540 MQ, 600 MQ, 600 DQ, 600 ME and 630 ME – all of which are based on the manual Fiat Ducato and come with diesel heating as standard, as well as a slide-out rear bench, which improves comfort for rear passengers.
Also of note is the optional manual rising rear double bed, which can be raised to make space for luggage, bicycles, etc.
The kitchen has a two-burner hob – the only aspect of the campervan that is powered by gas – and a compressor refrigerator, which can hold up to 138 litres.
The Platinum Selection pack offers more equipment, such as a flyscreen for the sliding door, an electric access step, Knaus’ EasySpace bow extension and rain gutter above the sliding door. In addition, there is an integrated mattress topper, insulated waste water tank, additional power sockets and an awning as standard.
Other Knaus changes
The Knaus Live I has also received changes with the interior having been comprehensively revised for 2026.
There are changes to the layout as you first step aboard this A-class to make it more welcoming and contemporary with LED ambient lighting and the upholstery and seating geometry have been modified to improve comfort.
Rear ventilation has also been improved in this A-class, which is available in three variants – 650 MEG, 700 MEG and 900 LEG – all of which have rear single bed layouts.
Other changes see a new layout in the Live Wave range with the launch of the 650 MEG, which has rear single beds in the rear and a standard drop-down bed above the front lounge.
Finally, the Live Wave low-profile range of motorhomes gets a new layout – the four-berth 650 MEG, which features rear single beds, and a drop-down bed above the front lounge.
