Hymer launches new B-ML low-profile and special edition campervan

German premium motorhome and campervan manufacturer, Hymer, has revealed a new model in its flagship B-Class MasterLine motorhome range. It has also launched a special edition version of its Free campervan.

The new B-Class MasterLine T 780 is a luxury two-berth low-profile that uses Hymer’s exclusive SLC chassis coupled to the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter cab powered by Merc’s 143bhp engine. It comes with a range of safety systems as standard, including the Mercedes Crosswind Assist system. It sits on a 4,430kg chassis as standard, which can be upgraded to 4,500kg for extra payload.

The layout mirrors that of its A-class sibling – the B-ML I 780 – in that it has twin single beds (both 2m long and just shy of 90cm wide) at the rear with a shower room, which has 1.94m of headroom and a duckboard, at the foot of the nearside bed and the washroom at the foot of the other. Forward of these is the kitchen with three-burner inline hob, sink and wardrobe and a 153-litre fridge/freezer opposite. At the front is an L-shaped lounge with two forward-facing travel seats and a single seat alongside the habitation door.

Of course, this low-profile lacks the overcab drop-down double bed of the A-class version of the B-ML T 780. The new low-profile is just short of 8m long (7.89m) and is 2.35m wide. While it is a two-berth it does have the option for a third berth to be made up from the lounge. The garage under the beds is large enough for a moped (123cm high and 110cn wide) and comes with a huge 350kg payload.

In addition, the famous German manufacturer has also launched the Hymer Free 540 as a Blue Evolution edition model. The new campervan has a sportier bi-colour exterior in Storm Blue Metallic and A black pop-top roof.

The limited-edition campervan, which is based on the 140bhp Ducato, features Fiat’s new multimedia system including a 7in sat-nav display and the integrated Isofix child seat mounts. The 5.41m-long special-edition campervan also comes with matt black 16in alloy wheels and a glossy black radiator grille to add a sporty touch. Because of its pop-top the Free 540 is able to offer up to four berths.

Cruise control as well as LED daytime running lights and fog lights are all standard and it also comes with a large 90-litre diesel tank. Other extras that come as standard include an integrated reversing camera and an interior that uses polished silver effects to blend with white locker doors, grey upholstery and Hymer’s colour-coordinated Evolution flooring with a wood-finish.

An anthracite-coloured awning is also standard in this 2.08m-wide 3,300kg campervan, which has a rear transverse double bed, central washroom and kitchen and half-dinette at the front, which includes those two forward-facing travel seats with Isofix.
