Hillside Leisure launches low-price motorhome
VW campervan specialist, Hillside Leisure of Derby, is to introduce a new entry-level campervan at the Caravan & Camping Show at Birmingham's NEC from 18 to 23 February.
Based on the Nissan NV200, which is already used as a base vehicle by Lunar and Sussex Campervans, Hillside will offer two models starting from under £25,000.Like Hillside’s existing Birchover (on VW) and Ellastone (on Renault Trafic), the new Nissan campers will feature side kitchen/rear bench floorplans with a crash-tested seat/bed system by RIB.
The standard model will be a four-seater with a 1.04m-wide seat/bed. It will have a two-burner hob, sink and Vitrifrigo 39-litre compressor fridge in its side kitchen, while a Drivelodge rising roof will provide standing room on site.
The second model will be a five-seater, thanks to a wider (1.29m) RIB seat, which will also convert into a generous bed for this size of campervan. This will, however, necessitate a reduction in galley space and a portable coolbox will replace the fitted fridge.
Both models will come with a swivel passenger cab seat and be based on the van version (rather than the Combi) of the NV200, with twin hinged rear doors instead of a tailgate.
We're giving away 50 pairs of tickets to the Caravan & Camping Show for free. Click here to enter.
