Globe-Traveller offers second VW Crafter campervan
Luxury Polish campervan converter, Globe-Traveller, will be launching a second model based on the VW Crafter
Following hot on the heels of the SWB launch of the Falcon 2XS in January this year, there is now a long-wheelbase model, the Falcon 2Z. The extra-high roof allows a double floor to maximise the possibilities of winter camping. The layout is similar to that seen in the Voyager Z, which was named overall Campervan of the Year in 2023, with a few tweaks to take into account the slightly narrower width and extra length of the Crafter.
Instead of a forward-facing double travel seat in the lounge, there is a small armchair, creating more space. It has a drawer underneath for storage, though. As with the Voyager Z, the table stores in the floor when not needed.
The launch model, which was presented at the 2023 Dusseldörf Caravan Salon, is gas-free and has a garage adapted to carry bikes and other sports gear.
The washroom features an illuminated mirrored door on a locker above the basin, which drops down and then hides away to create space. The toilet is a composting one, made by Trelino.
The company only entered the UK market last year but now has five dealers at six locations across the UK.
Prices start at €128,000 for the 2-litre 177bhp Crafter and includes diesel-powered Truma Combi heating and hot water, 220Ah lithium battery with Büttner charger, 160W solar panel with MPPT, two-burner gas/ceramic hob, 90-litre compressor fridge, Fiamma awning, 85-litre fresh and waste water tanks, and numerous VW options.
Production starts in October 2023, but we do expect to see right-hand drive versions fairly shortly and will be able to announce UK prices asap.
