Ford's campervan goes on sale in the UK
Order books have opened in the UK for the Ford Nugget campervan based on the company’s Transit Custom model, developed in conjunction with German campervan specialist, Westfalia.
The campervan, akin to the previous shape Transit Nugget, has a rear kitchen, with a forward-facing bench seat providing travel seats for three.
The cab seats also swivel to face this area once on site – a folding handbrake allows the drivers seat to turn 180 degrees. The rising roof is hinged at the front providing the most headroom in the kitchen.
The camper can sleep up to four people with a double bed in the rising roof and a double made up in the lounge.
The kitchen offers a two-burner hob and stainless steel sink, with a 40-litre compressor fridge. There are 42-litre fresh and waste water tanks as well as an outdoor shower.
Features include onboard WiFI, driver assistance technologies (adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, blind spots and active park assist).
The Nugget has the 2-litre EcoBlue diesel engine offering 128bhp as standard although you can upgrade to the 182bhp version with either a manual or automatic gearbox.
UK models will also come with a sliding side door on both sides of the camper, for ease of access.
Options include sound systems and racks for bikes and sports equipment.
Prices will start from £56,273 for the 128bhp engine, with the 182bhp costing from £57,229 for the manual and £58,199 for the automatic.
