Ford reveals larger Nugget campervan concept
Ford has revealed what it terms 'a vision' for a larger member of the Nugget family – the more spacious Big Nugget concept.
Created in partnership with German campervan manufacturer, Westfalia, which also makes the regular Nugget models, the new 6-metre-long Big Nugget is based on Ford’s long-wheelbase, high-roof Transit, and offers 13 cubic metres of interior space with more than two metres of indoor standing height.
The Big Nugget uses the extra space, creating four defined areas. At the front, the driver and front passenger seats can be rotated to create a living space and dining area.
In the centre is a separate washroom area with a toilet, washbasin and shower; while also in the centre is a kitchenette with two-burner gas hob, basin and a 70-litre refrigerator. At the rear, the bedroom area features a 2-metre long bed arranged across the vehicle designed to sleep two adults.
The Big Nugget concept explores possible features for a larger Transit-based campervan following confirmation from Ford that it plans to roll-out sales of the campervan range in new markets including the UK, having previously only marketed the model in Germany.
