Etrusco updates the exterior design for 2024

a626a1b6-48d8-4413-b66d-55392d1ffecb

For the coming year Etrusco has adopted a new exterior design for its models. That includes the Fiat campervans (CV), narrow low-profiles based on the Ford (V), low-profiles on the Fiat and the Ford (T), overcab motorhomes on Fiat (A) and Fiat-based A-classes (I)

Black and grey graphics in an angular design are aimed to be both modern and timeless. This is designed to coordinate with the company’s numerous interior décor schemes.

Also of note is the Urban Camper based on the Renault Trafic, which debuted at the Caravan Salon Düsseldorf this year. It’s got one model with a fairly classic side kitchen layout, but it is uncertain if we will see this in the UK this year

Highlights of Etrusco's 2024 motorhomes and campervans

  • Urban Camper model introduced, based on the Renault Trafic, It has a pop-top and has been designed to be both passenger car and campervan.

  • Ford Transit campervans, that we currently don’t see in the UK, adopt a fold-out extension to the rear bed for the 600 DF 4x4, allowing the transverse bed length to be extended by up to 37cm.

  • All coachbuilt motorhomes – narrow low-profiles (Vans), traditional low-profiles (T), A-classes (I) and overcabs (A) – get a new exterior decal scheme, with more black and anthracite colours. Some of the mouldings see a facelift, too.

  • The T 6900 SB and I 6900 SB single bed models have been revised to enable a bed length of 2m.

This six-strong range is all based on Fiats (there is a Ford-based range available in the UK this year, too). The 7400 is the biggest in the range and we’ve picked this island bed QBC as it has the currently on-trend face-to-face lounge seating area, though you can also get a single bed model with the same lounge.

Stepping on board – easy, thanks to a low inset step – those facing sofas and kitchen make for a very open plan living, dining and cooking area. Swivel the cab seats and four can dine here comfortably. That table folds in half for better access around it. Large skylights over the cab, lounge and side windows also help with a feeling of light.

The kitchen may be compact, but you can always use the table for prep if the space in front of the three-in-a-line hob is not enough. What’s neat is the rail on the wall, allowing for hooks to hang utensils. Note the fridge opposite – 137 litres of cooling space with 15 litres for your frozen items.

But the real star feature is at the back. This is what is known as an island bed (also commonly referred to as queen beds in Europe). You can access the double (1.98m long by 1.48m wide) from the wide raised floor on both sides. Each sleeper gets a wardrobe, reading light and a bedside table-esque worktop. There are cupboards above for more storage, too, along with doors to access more space at the foot of the bed.

That height allows for larger storage space below, with doors on either side – one of those is large enough to load bikes through, with the other providing access to items stored on the other side.

Also, the door on the toilet cubicle swings over to create an en suite to the bed, as well as a second sliding door to provide privacy from the rear bedroom. This way, if you did want this to be more than a two-berth, those sleeping up front and in the bedroom are ensured privacy when using the facilities.

Here, we see an A-class model from Etrusco, the I range, with four layouts to choose from, three with fixed single beds and one with an island bed.

This particular layout also gets those popular twin inwards-facing sofas (commonly referred to as the ‘face to face’ lounge), but because of the wider cab in an A-class, this area feels even more spacious than the low-profile version. This is also helped by that big windscreen and large cab windows, as well as windows either side of the lounge and a rooflight above.

As with the T 7400 QBC model above, the kitchen feels part of this space, giving an open-plan apartment feel.

Open a door to walk through the en suite washroom (shower on the left and toilet compartment with basin on the right) to the rear bedroom. Steps lead up to the high-level beds with a window on each side. However, with an infill cushion, you can make this into a large double, with a ladder supplied for access in this configuration.

The range of Etrusco campervans stretches to four, all based on various lengths of the Fiat Ducato. This one is the most compact on the medium-wheelbase van – what’s important to note is that this length will actually fit in most car parking spaces.

And it still offers all the facilities of its larger siblings – half-dinette lounge with swivel cab seats, good-sized 84-litre fridge, two-burner hob and sink unit and full washroom. There’s even a surprising amount of worktop, given the size of this campervan.

The bed runs across the rear and that’s thanks to the Fiat Ducato base, it’s a good 1.95m long. A panel between the under-bed space and the rest of the living area offers a step up into the bed and it’s removable for more flexible storage options.

Although this makes an excellent two-berth, if you wanted to accommodate more people, you can order this model with the pop-top roof, providing two extra berths, or the lounge seat conversion into a single bed.
