Entry-level First Line models reintroduced by Chausson
French motorhome manufacturer, Chausson, announced at the start of the 2023 season that it would only be offering its low-profile range in fully equipped Titanium Ultimate spec. However, the company has now decided to reintroduce its more affordable First Line trim level, a decision made partly due to a lack of availability of Ford Transit chassis with the automatic gearbox (which is standard on Titanium Ultimate models)
The First Line spec will only be offered on a limited run of vehicles and only with the 650 layout (6.39m long, front Smart lounge with parallel settees, drop-down bed, rear garage and full-width washroom). It is priced from £63,990.
Despite being a more entry-level model, the 650 First Line is based on a Ford cab with the 170bhp engine, ESP, fog lamps, colour-coded front bumper, cruise control, air-conditioning and Stop&Start. The swivel cab seats have twin armrests and height adjustment but, of course, the gearbox is manual only. A DAB radio with touchscreen, steering wheel controls and reversing camera is also included.
The Chausson body has an XL habitation door with window and flyscreen, while a sunroof is fitted above the cab and the IRP construction uses GRP for the floor, roof and sides. Interior lighting is 100% LED and the blown-air heating is fuelled by diesel.
Completing the standard spec is the Accessory Pack, which adds an awning, solar panel, twin AGM batteries and cab blinds.
