Carthago has introduced major changes for the coming season, including launching an entire new range of A-classes – the C2-tourer – available only on the Mercedes Sprinter AL-KO chassis.
The new C2-tourer model line, which Carthago has named its ‘Smart Liner’ class because they are lighter (50kg) and narrower than existing models, consists of five A-class motorhomes that are only 2.17m wide.
That’s 10cm narrower than the classic C1-tourers. At launch, there are five layouts ranging in length from 7.2 to 7.48m, all of which feature a luxury washroom – indicated by the abbreviation “RB” in the model name.
They all have a high-spec corner kitchen with a fridge/freezer located opposite, as well as an L-shaped lounge with an additional side seat.
The C2-tourer I 145 RB-LE is comparatively compact with a length of 7.2m and twin single beds at the rear.
The larger I 147 RB-LE K and I 147 RB-LE L, as well as the I 148 RB-QB K and I 148 RB-QB L models (7.30m and 7.40m long respectively) have different beds – the abbreviation LE stands for lengthways single beds, while QB stands for queen-sized island bed.
The I 145 RB-LE, the I 147 RB-LE K and even the I 148 RB-QB K are available as lightweight models, which means they can be driven with a standard 3,500kg car licence.
As an option, the I 145 RB-LE is also available as a comfort model with a gross vehicle weight of 4.5 tonnes. The longer “L” models, the I 147 RB-LE L and I 148 RB-QB L, are available only as comfort models.
One striking feature of the new range is a completely redesigned front face; the hexagonal radiator grille has five crossbars with the new Carthago ‘C’ branding in the centre.
The C2’s large curved windscreen is recessed for extra streamlining and is framed on the side by new A-pillars that have a new angular design at their base.
The exterior also gets new decals and Carthago’s Dynamic Design rear end with curved corner pillars and the rear lights featuring ‘C’ branding.

The latest-generation chic e-line range now has a distinctive new exterior design.
The exterior of the Mercedes Sprinter versions feature a completely redesigned front with Carthago’s unmistakable hexagonal radiator grille, which has now been modified to feature five striking triple crossbars.
Enhancing the striking new front design are LED daytime running lights and exclusive full LED headlights.
Both Fiat and Mercedes models get bold Carthago “C” branding on the grille.
Inside, the chic e-line offers a spacious living area, an astonishing amount of storage and luxury features you would expect on the flagship range of a premium German manufacturer.
This includes a unique double floor, a huge rear garage, Alde hydronic heating system combined with Carthago’s cab heating concept and an AL-KO low- frame chassis.
There are 12 models available, from the sub-8m-long I 50 LE to the almost 9m-long I 64 XL QB. All have an interior featuring Carthago’s linea chiara style collection and Noce Fino furniture finish.

As a result of the introduction of the C2-tourer model line, Carthago has also created the C1-tourer that encompasses the existing c-tourer models in both low-profile and A-class bodies.
The c-tourer was already renowned for being a lightweight vehicle but, thanks to innovative design and manufacturing techniques, some models now weigh up to 100kg less, all without sacrificing on Carthago’s high standards of quality and comfort.
The C1-tourers are available in both the 3,500kg lightweight and the 4,200kg comfort lines. Interior design depends on the model; the epic style collection features an ash finish combined with high-gloss ivory as standard, but there are also darker cherry wood style options, high gloss ivory or a combination of the two.
Exterior changes mean A-class models are now available in bright Clear White.
The grille displays the “C” branding, while the 145 RB-LE and 149 RB-LE models have the new Dynamic Design rear end.
Highlights of Carthago's 2025 motorhomes
-
A new line – the lightweight – allows those with a standard car licence to buy and enjoy a Carthago, while the new 4.5-tonne comfort line provides more spec to those who have a C1 licence.
-
All models benefit from Carthago’s lightweight offensive, which sees extra payload for those looking for more off-grid independence.
-
Carthago has also launched a new electrical options pack that provides a 150Ah lithium battery and a new state-of-the-art ‘Mastervolt’ technology system that manages electrical consumption and recharging to ensure users have battery electric power for as long as possible.
