Benimar goes the extra Mileo

Two new models have been added to Benimar’s low-profile Mileo range for 2016, and are due to go on show for the first time at the Marquis Leisure stand, at the Malvern motorhome show, this weekend.

Both four berths, the 264 and 286 are part of a range from the Spanish manufacturer that is now seven-strong and was reintroduced to Britain by Marquis last year after several years of absence.

The 6.99m-long 286 features an electric drop-down bed and a spacious front lounge thanks to a freestanding foldaway table that is stored completely out of the way in the garage at the back. One of the pre-set levels for the drop-down bed leaves a space of 153cm (5ft) beneath it – still just enough space for adults to continue using the seats in the lounge.
It also features a roomy kitchen, end washroom with separate lit shower and internal access to the garage – although not so that you can retrieve the table without having to go outside.

The 7.93m-long 264, meanwhile, has single beds at the back and an L-shaped kitchen in the middle, although its front lounge, which also features a drop-down bed, has a fixed table. An oven/grill is included as standard on both models, as are a spare wheel and 12V and mains sockets in the garage, which is also lit.

Both vans are also fully winterised, and come with a 6000Kw Truma Combi heating system as well as an onboard 127-litre freshwater tank, an insulated and heated 105-litre waste water tank, and insulated external pipes.

The 286 model, which will be appearing in the November 2015 issue of MMM, also featured a Truma Aventa habitation air conditioning system, although this costs £2,495 extra.

Beds in the Benimar 286Both vehicles are based on the 2.3-litre 150bhp Fiat Ducato as standard, and the cab comes on the road with DAB radio with touch screen sat-nav and an integrated reversing camera.

Marquis is currently offering the 286 at £49,995, compared with a usual on the road prices of £51,841. The 264 currently costs £51,995, compared with £53,957 usually.
