Bailey has confirmed pricing for its range of three motorhomes, which will be officially launched at October’s NEC show.

The initial range of three coachbuilts, which have just been launched, will be joined in early 2012 by a further two models.

Prices will begin at £40,000 (although exact prices have yet to be confirmed) for the Approach SE 620 – a 2-berth low-line end-kitchen. The mid-range Approach SE 740 – a 4-berth low-line end-bedroom (fixed double bed) – will cost in the region of £42,500, while the Approach SE 760 – a 6-berth high-line end-lounge - will cost closer to £45,000.

The range will be sold by a network of 30 dealers through England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

Confirming its approach will be unlike any other manufacturer’s, Bailey is encouraging all potential customers to take a test drive, so convinced is it of the quality of the driving experience and the results of a programme of noise, vibration harshness (NVH) reduction, which it says has resulted in some of the quietest motorhomes on the market.

All will Bailey motorhomes are powered by Peugeot’s Euro 5, 2.2-litre 130bhp engine coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

All will be built on the AL-KO AMC chassis for lower weight (greater payload) and improved road holding and braking efficiency.

All will also be constructed using Bailey’s patented Alu-Tech bodyshell technology.

Driver and front passenger get fully adjustable front swivel seats with twin arm rests, cab air conditioning, dual airbags and engine cruise control as standard. All models come with a 105Ah auxiliary battery, a 100-litre fully insulated external fresh water tank and dual fuel Truma ‘Combi’ central heating system. The kitchens feature Dometic 8-Series refrigerators, a new Spinflo anti-shock oven and a stainless steel 700-watt microwave and well designed washrooms all of which feature separate fully lined separate shower cubicles.

Bailey has subjected the new motorhomes to a series of accelerated life and structural tests as well putting them through a thorough examination in a climate control chamber at the Millbrook Proving Ground. The manufacturer also subjected the coachbuilts to a series of crash tests to ensure safety of rear seat passengers.

Proof of their suitability for the market comes with European Whole Vehicle Type Approval for all models ensuring compliance with strict weight, dimensions and safety regulations.

MMM is the first magazine to have tested a Bailey motorhome – read it on page 144 of the October issue, which hits the shelves on September 22.
