Al-Ko launches new self-levelling system for motorhomes
Al-Ko, the major manufacturer of motorhome chassis, has launched a new hydraulic motorhome levelling system
As you’d expect, the new HY4 system is designed to suit all motorhomes up to six tonnes that are built on Al-Ko AMC single or twin-axle chassis.
The system, which has just gone on sale, is available as an aftermarket fit and allows buyers to level their motorhome easily in just one minute using either automatic settings or manual adjustments using a remote control in the cab.
Al-Ko says the remote control allows millimetre precise levelling of the four corner supports. In addition to the automatic and manual levelling controls, there are two additional functions that can be programmed for uses such as creating a preferred sleeping position or to tilt the motorhome for emptying the wastewater tank.
Al-Ko says what’s unique about the new system is not only is designed specifically for motorhomes built on Al-Ko chassis but it can also be easily removed and transferred to a new motorhome when the owner upgrades. The system also has separate hydraulic reservoirs for each leg where some other systems use just a single reservoir to feed all four legs. As it has been designed by Al-Ko there is also no modification needed to the chassis or vehicle bodywork.
As you’d expect, it comes with an alert system to prevent driving off with rams down, and child and anti-theft protection
The system weighs some 69kg, so check you have adequate payload, and costs in the region of £5,100 including fitting and VAT, although the exact UK price has yet to be confirmed.
