Adria reveals all-new Supersonic A-class

Slovenian motorhome manufacturer, Adria, has launched its all-new Supersonic range of Mercedes-Benz-based A-class motorhomes

The new range comprises four models, with deliveries expected from later this summer.

Matjaž Grm, Adria Mobil Executive Director for Sales and Marketing, explains,

The Supersonic started its life as a concept in the Adria innovation hub, a top-secret part of our principal manufacturing site, where our designers and engineers create their vision for new vehicles.

When we started this project, we looked in unusual places for inspiration, not just at motorhomes but also at luxury yachts and the latest in interior home design. Design, and the experience it delivers, is incredibly important for any vehicle, especially this one, as the pinnacle of our motorhome range.

Four new Adria Supersonic models

The four models start with the 4.5-tonne, 7.8m-long Supersonic 780 SL, which is a four-berth with four travel seats and features a large private rear bedroom with twin single beds, a large L-shaped lounge with movable sofa and an overcab double bed.

This is followed by the Supersonic 780 DC, which is another four-berth featuring face-to-face sofas in the front lounge rather than the dinette and a large island bed in the rear bedroom, plus a second drop-down double above the cab. This is also rated at 4.5 tonnes and is 7.8m long.

The third model in the new A-class range is the four-berth 5.5-tonne, 8.9m-long Supersonic 890 LL (pictured), which features a larger L-shaped lounge, a ‘spa’ washroom and extra storage. In the rear private bedroom there are twin single beds, and at the front is a drop-down bed over the cab.

Finally, the flagship of the Supersonic range is the new 5.5-tonne, 8.9m-long Supersonic 890 LC, which features a larger L-shaped lounge, a ‘spa’ washroom and extra storage. In the rear bedroom is a large central island bed, and the other two berths in this four-berth model come courtesy of the overcab drop-down double bed.

The Adria Supersonic's exterior

The new A-class has an all-new exterior with automotive cues, clean lines and dynamic styling, to blend with the Mercedes-Benz base vehicle. It includes a silver metallic body, with large panoramic window and front grille bearing the Mercedes-Benz star and LED lights. There is a new rear wall design, with air-diffusor profile, rear view camera and new LED lights by Hella.

The range is powered by Mercedes’ 2.0-litre 170bhp Euro 6 diesel engine, coupled to a 9G-Tronic automatic transmission. The driver and passenger also get the benefit of new seating designed by Aguti.

It utilises an Al-Ko chassis (both single rear axle and twin rear axle variants) that is designed for a high payload and for use with the Electronic Stability Program (ESP). The body is created using Adria’s Comprex body construction and there is Alde heating, along with a fully integrated double floor construction.

What's inside the Adria Supersonic range?

Inside, buyers will enjoy a single-level floor throughout and a more open-plan living room with connected kitchen. The dinettes come with exclusive-design retractable seatbelts, which stow away when not driving. There is smart lighting throughout featuring spot, LED and ambient lights.

The open-plan lounge has a low separation wall and optimum social space (there is either a lounge with a dinette in an L-design or the en vogue face-to-face double sofa layout depending on the model). The lounge also features a new extendable and rotatable table design. Above the cab is an electrically operated double bed with easy access, lighting and ventilation.

The kitchen features a premium-quality slim worktop with antibacterial properties, a huge 177-litre compressor Tec-Tower fridge (or combined fridge/freezer), oven and optional coffee machine.

In the rear, the large master bedroom suite comes with a choice of island or longitudinal single beds on comfortable slatted, adjustable frames with Luxe mattresses and underbed storage. Some beds feature motorised adjustment of the head and feet zones, for daytime relaxing.

The washroom, which is based on a chic hotel style, features a separate shower room with Alde shower tower, illuminated mirror with two spotlights and a window for extra ventilation.

The new Supersonic is available to order now, through six specially selected UK dealers:

  • Abacus Motorhomes (Hampshire)
  • Chelston Motorhomes (Somerset)
  • Pullingers Motorhomes (Essex)
  • Brownhills Motorhomes (Nottinghamshire)
  • Signature Motorhomes (Landcashire)
  • Wandahome (Yorkshire)

Adria has also revealed new Twin campervans and new-generation Coral Supreme and Matrix Supreme motorhomes built on a Mercedes-Benz chassis.

Details of all of the new 2023 motorhomes and campervans, including these new models from Adria, will be featured in a special supplement free with the November issue of MMM.
