A look at the Sunlight T 670 S Adventure Edition

Ford stands for affordability, but it also stands for sportiness, modern design and well-equipped when it underpins this new range of low-profile motorhomes from Sunlight

And while Sunlight may be one of Hymer’s more budget brands, that does not mean you are getting a budget motorhome, especially when you consider that most of its models coming into the UK are only available with its Adventure Edition specification.

Here, we’re taking a look at the T 670 S model, which was launched in early 2023 on the Ford Transit.

As well as that Obsidian black cab and 16in alloy wheels, one of the most obvious features is the modern full-width rear lights, more often found on premium cars. Flush-fit framed windows and a chunky Ford logo on the black grille add to the whole package.

In fact, this motorhome is so well specified that the options list only really has about 14 items, from automatic gearboxes and bigger engines, to weight upgrades and a drop-down bed in the lounge.

Stepping inside, the layout is fairly conventional, offering twin single beds above a garage, washroom opposite the kitchen and lounge up front, so the devil is in the details to differentiate this T 670 S from a multitude of other models currently for sale.

Initial impressions are good, thanks mainly to the 156-litre fridge/freezer unit on the left. It’s not full-height, making the area feel much more spacious than it should. This is also helped by the large rooflight over the cab.

That space above the fridge is not wasted, however, as there’s a neat set of shelves tucked in the corner. This unit is this height for a reason, to create space for a drop-down bed of a decent size in the lounge. This is an option, and it’s quite a weighty one (44kg), so consider it carefully as it will reduce the headroom in this area, too.

The lounge has Isofix on the rear travel seats, though, if you did want to include this bed and travel with kids. One feature of note in this area is the shoe cupboard perfectly placed right next to the door.

Unusually for a European motorhome with this floorplan, the kitchen area is very generous. The main unit is a classic L-shape, with a two-burner hob and a round sink, plus drawers and further storage below.

What sets this area apart is the raised surface next to this, which contains part of the wardrobe. That will allow one person to prep on this worktop, and one person to do the cooking.

The washroom is opposite this with an all-in-one room offering the swivel cassette toilet, and a basin on a swing wall that helps to create a practical shower. It’s not anything out of the ordinary, but it make the most of the space available.

Then, at the very back is the reason you are really going to buy this motorhome: twin single beds reached by a couple of steps and set above a large storage area.

The Adventure Edition models come as standard with the kit to convert this area into a massive double bed, but you will have to deploy a ladder to access it. A half-height curtain closes off this area from the rest of the motorhome.

The space below has access from either side externally – one big door that is over a metre tall so capable of swallowing a bike, and a slightly shorter door on the other, which makes access to the stuff stored in here a little easier than having to root around in the garage only from one side.

Summary

In a market of many competitors, this Sunlight has some unusual and practical features that set it apart from the rest. Definitely one to consider if you are on the hunt for a not-too-big low-profile motorhome with fixed single beds.
