1000th Grand California campervan rolls out of factory
The 1000th Grand California rolled off the VW assembly line at the company's Poland factory on 29 November 2019. Production of this Crafter-based motorhome only began in spring 2019.
This landmark campervan, the Grand California 600 model, is being delivered to a customer in Germany, who specified the red/white exterior paint scheme, along with a panoramic rooflight and extra bunk bed.
A dedicated assembly line in the Poland factory focusses on roof assembly, bodywork modification and final assembly for the Grand California. These vehicles are also put through a sprinkler booth to ensure watertightness as well as an extensive quality control procedure.
In the UK, orders only started to be taken in October 2019, with first customer deliveries in spring 2020.
