Are we ready for AI-designed caravans?

We asked AI to design 10 caravans, here’s what it came up with
From Egyptian-inspired tourers to Mars-ready explorers, AI has designed caravans from both the past and the (very far) future. Could these results show where the future of caravanning may be heading?
1. The Pharaoh’s Retreat
A caravan styled for ancient royalty, complete with rich textures and a front-row view of the pyramids.
It blends 2500 BCE opulence with modern comfort, creating something that looks like it should be pulled across the desert by a team of camels rather than hitched to a towbar.
2. The Grand Prix Pod
Built with racing drivers in mind, this concept imagines the type of caravan someone like Verstappen or Hamilton might unwind in after a day of racing. Low and aerodynamic, it mixes motorsport style with a sleek, minimalist interior. And yes, the real Red Bull drivers (with Verstappen and Ricciardo) once raced caravans on an F1 circuit – it went about how you’d expect.

3. The Mars explorer
A compact, one-person caravan designed for life on the Red Planet.
Imagining a future where caravanning goes interplanetary, it blends advanced space tech with familiar home comforts.
Complete with efficient life-support systems and cosy living spaces, this tourer offers a safe, self‑contained retreat while remaining rugged enough to withstand the fiercest Martian dust storms.
4. The SkyDeck XL
A towering, two-storey caravan designed for a supersized family.
Nine bunks below, a fixed double above and a lounge on the top floor – accessed, naturally, by ladder.
With an upstairs en suite and room for practically everyone, this is the caravan equivalent of a holiday home on wheels.
5. The RetroRoller ’74
A full-colour throwback to the bold patterns of the 1970s.
Inside, it’s all wood grain, bright textiles and unapologetically funky wallpaper. Despite the vintage styling, it still packs a comfy fixed bed, a proper kitchen and a cosy lounge.
6. The SeaWanderer
Half boat, half caravan, this hybrid concept imagines a tourer for people who prefer life on (or at least near) the water.
Timber interiors, a bow-shaped front end and panoramic windows give it a coastal feel.
Best suited to lakeside pitches and not ideal if you get seasick just looking at waves.
7. The WorkHub Van
A stripped-back, ultra-practical workspace on wheels for the permanently remote worker.
Inside is a desk, a bed, basic facilities and not much else.
It leans hard into its purpose, even down to an exterior graphic politely warning neighbours you’re in the middle of a Teams call.
8. The Panorama Cabin
Designed entirely around the idea of better views, the Panorama Cabin uses sweeping windows and bright, open living space to make the most of any landscape.
Ideal for anyone who tours to chase scenery, it’s a simple but striking take on a four-berth layout.
9. The Flintstone Cruiser
An interesting prehistoric caravan made entirely from stone.
It features a fixed stone bed and a chunky L-shaped lounge – a very literal interpretation of solid construction.
The design is a fun nod to the Stone Age and would make a good base for touring adventures – but thankfully without the risk of encountering dinosaurs.
10. The SolarTrail 2075
A future-focused tourer built to run entirely on solar power.
Lightweight, eco-friendly and ideal for longer off-grid trips, it imagines a world where caravanning is powered by nothing more than the sun.
A smartly arranged four-berth layout keeps it practical, as well as sustainable.
