Premier League legend, Harry Redknapp, joins Danny Dyer to save UK holidays

Danny Dyer's new Sky series, The Dyers' Caravan Park, has been spotted filming on the Isle of Sheppey and this time cameras caught a full-blown football match breaking out at Priory Hill & Nutts Farm Holiday Park.

Former Spurs and West Ham boss, Harry Redknapp, was photographed on touchline duty, coaching a residents' team, while Dyer marshalled the park staff from the opposite dugout. The scenes were shot for the yet-to-air series that sees Danny and his daughter, TV personality Dani Dyer, attempt to revive a coastal holiday park and – in their words – make the classic British caravan break feel exciting again.

The football match follows the pair’s recent meet and greet at Priory Hill Holiday Park, where they welcomed visitors, posed for photos and showed off caravans for sale while camera crews flocked in. The six-part series is due to air on Sky Max and NOW, with the production team behind Clarkson’s Farm involved. Footage from Kent is expected to feature prominently, including the staff vs residents kick-about with Redknapp in charge of the guests – and using his Premier League knowledge to oust the Dyers. There have also been rumours that Martin Kemp (who is known from Spandau Ballet and his role as Steve Owen in EastEnders) had performed at an after-filming drinks party.

Could more famous faces appear?

It would come as no surprise if more recognisable faces make an appearance.

Dani is married to West Ham and England forward, Jarrod Bowen, and if schedules allow, he feels like an obvious fit to cameo in the TV series – particularly with football already confirmed as a theme of one of the episodes. It would be a great twist. Imagine showing up to play a friendly kick-about at a caravan park and you look towards the bench to see Jarrod Bowen, a Premier League caliber forward getting subbed on the pitch, but not only that, he is coached by Harry Redknapp, former winner of the FA Cup and I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!

Perhaps Danny's co-stars from The Assembly, former Doctor Who David Tennant and Jade Thirlwall could make an appearance. Or maybe Redknapp has a few tricks up his sleeve and brings along football sensations Gareth Bale, Frank Lampard, Rio Ferdinand or maybe England star turned pod-caster Peter Crouch – a player Harry Redknapp sold three times in his career at Portsmouth and Tottenham.

Can the Dyers' bring back the British holiday?

Celeb fronted or not, a primetime series set on a real UK holiday park puts caravans in front of a broad/national audience, which can only help staycation interest across the UK.

When you can watch

Sky is yet to release a premiere date, but filming is well under way. We will update once schedules are confirmed and will share any official trailers as soon as they land. In the meantime, our earlier coverage of the Dyers’ open day and series announcement has more background on how this project came together and the background behind the decline in British holidays.
