The NCC Training Academy is celebrating a decade of driving excellence

The NCC Training Academy is celebrating a decade at the forefront of professional development in the UK’s caravan, motorhome and holiday park home industries.

Launched in 2015, the academy has trained more than 10,000 people across every corner of the sector – from engineers and technicians to sales and customer service teams – and now stands as one of the industry’s leading training providers.

Building on the foundations of the former Caravan Industry Training Organisation (CITO), the NCC Training Academy has worked closely with manufacturers and suppliers, including the likes of Truma, Thetford, Al-Ko, Whale, and Sargent.

“As the industry has evolved, so, too, has our approach,” said Hannah Cole, Training Academy Manager at the NCC. “Developing our online electrical training programmes has been key – it’s one of the most in-demand skill areas right now. We’ve also designed custom training rigs that bring hands-on learning to life in both classrooms and workshops.”

Dan Wilkinson, Group Service Director at Auto-Sleepers Group, said, “The NCC Academy provides the perfect platform to show that our technicians are working to the highest standards. The training gives our team and customers confidence in the quality of our service.”

Looking ahead, the academy is looking to expand on its digitalisation with new e-learning tools and an updated learning management system, allowing learners to access training anytime, and anywhere.

In marking its tenth anniversary, the academy has paid tribute to the late Ron Hoggarth, a pioneering electrical engineer whose work reformed how electrical systems are taught, and in turn, maintained across the industry. Hannah added, “Ron’s programmes set a new benchmark for technical training. His influence continues to inspire our trainers and learners every day.”
