Knaus announces restructuring amid market slowdown
Knaus Tabbert is undergoing a major restructuring as it responds to a slowdown in the caravanning market. The company has introduced cost-cutting measures, production adjustments, and a shift in its model line-up to align with stabilised demand following the post-pandemic boom.
Key changes include simplifying the range from 2026, discontinuing low-demand models, and securing better supplier terms to reduce costs. In a move to stabilise operations, Knaus Tabbert has also implemented temporary production pauses and short-time working at various sites.
Former Hymer GmbH Director, Jochen Hein, joins as Chief Operating Officer, while Matjaž Grm, formerly of Adria Mobil, has been brought in as a consultant to improve sales strategy.
CEO, Wim de Pundert, said,
"Knaus Tabbert is undergoing a comprehensive transformation process in which we are setting clear priorities: Customer focus, efficiency and quality.
"With the optimisation of our model portfolio and targeted measures in sales and marketing, we are creating the basis for a successful future.
"Knaus Tabbert stands for innovation and quality.
"We will continue to focus on these values and our strengths as a traditional manufacturer of leisure vehicles with decades of experience together with our dealers and partners in the future.”
