Salop Leisure caravan dealership has released a handy infographic charting tourers throughout the years
Midlands-based dealership Salop Leisure has joined forces with tourer historian Andy Jenkinson to compile an infographic that spans the history of caravanning.
From humble beginnings in 1885 to the multitude of caravans for sale that we see today, it's a great introduction to the models and manufacturers past and present that have shaped the industry we know and love.
Mark Bebb, managing director at Salop Leisure told Caravan magazine: “We’ve wanted to do this caravan history project for a while now and, with the West Midlands Caravan Show coming up, we thought this would be the perfect time to put it together. It’s something to put the show in perspective, if you like!
“We think the final result turned out great; it’s created a real buzz on social media ahead of the caravan show, and some very interesting responses from our readers. One person asked me if we’d ever consider putting the Eccles National Caravan back in our fleet… I told her I’d have to think about it!”
