Club comment on February show cancellation

Yesterday it was announced that the 2012 Boat and Caravan Show would no longer go ahead.

In a statement released yesterday, the show organisers said: "The decision to cancel the show has been taken because of a lack of support from the caravan [and motorhome] manufacturers and their dealers, despite having strong support from all other parts of the show."

The Camping and Caravanning Club had agreed to sponsor the show for the next three years but yesterday told us that "it is a great shame to hear that such a reputable and long-established show has been cancelled, particularly as it has become such an integral part of the industry’s calendar."

"We can only look to the future and... we will endeavour to continue to support all industry shows and, in turn the outdoor lifestyle"

However, the industry's calendar has not been left bare with the NCC's Motorhome, Caravan & Camping Show 2012 due to debut in February at London's Excel venue.
