Essential Guide to Caravans 2026

Xplore caravans: 2026 essential guide

Updated for the 2026 season, Xplore's range comprises three caravans designed to combine low weight with high specification and clever layouts. The result is a series of entry-level caravans that cater to active couples and families, all representing brilliant value for money.

From the compact XC Lite, with its family-friendly bunk option, to the spacious Quad with its retractable double bed, these models prove you don’t have to compromise on comfort to keep things lightweight.

Prices start at just £21,999, and with features like ATC stability control, WiFi, cycle racks and even alarms and trackers included as standard, Xplore continues to stand out as one of the best-value ranges on the market.

Xplore XC Lite

The compact caravan with an ingenious layout that sleeps four and provides two seating areas, the XC Lite is an extraordinary caravan. It’s the smallest caravan in the Xplore range – yet it packs a resounding punch in terms of layout, equipment level and styling!

It has an L-shaped lounge with a spacious feel – even though this caravan is only 2.18m wide. In the offside near corner is a small dining area that converts to bunk beds by means of the top bunk folding down from the wall.

In the nearside corner is a combined shower toilet compartment that is surprisingly spacious considering the diminutive size of the caravan, and stylishly appointed with smart black shower and tap fitments, plus a towel rail running across the roof.

In the lounge, a larger-than-you-might-expect corner table hinges up from the wall for your television. Alongside it, a deep window lets in plenty of light. Two lockers above the front window give good space, together with the large lockers on both the nearside and offside.

The kitchen, too, has more storage space than you might expect, with three drawers and a double-doored cabinet below them, plus a large cabinet under the combined oven/grill. There are three burners and a microwave above. A hinged extension comes into play when the kitchen is in use.

The wardrobe is above the fridge; a space-saving design.

Styling throughout is eye-catching, yet also simple. Seating fabrics are grey with turquoise buttons in velvet. There are two bolster cushions, one side of which is velvet and the other is leather-effect with a stitched swirly design. The square scatter cushions have a herringbone pattern of blue, turquoise grey and terracotta segments on a cream background. Grey flooring that mimics stone tiles is not only practical, compared with carpets, it’s superbly on-trend. Handleless top cabinets add to the attractively simple styling.

All Xplore models have Whale’s Rapid Heat eight-litre water heater and the Whale space heating system.

Xplore XC Duo

The Xplore XC Duo is the range’s two-berth, with a cleverly created layout that provides a longitudinally aligned washroom in the rear corner, and an L-shaped kitchen at the rear adjacent to the door. Its surface stretches along towards the door, providing a surprising amount of food prep space, with an array of drawers and cabinets.

There’s a large cabinet under the oven/grill, plus drawers, and a dresser-style cabinet forward of the door that houses the microwave, a lower cabinet and a drawer.

In common with the XC Lite, the wardrobe is above the fridge, on the offside, forward of the washroom.

The parallel sofas can be used as single beds or made into a double bed. Top lockers running all of the way around the lounge provide plenty of accommodation.

All Xplore caravans have robust floor tiles and durable upholstery fabric.

The Quad is the largest model in the range.

It’s a four-berth, with a transversely aligned double bed that can be retracted to increase floor space during the day. The parallel seating can be used as single beds or converted to a double bed.

The shower room spans the width of the Quad, with the shower on the nearside, the washbasin in the centre and the toilet on the offside.

The kitchen is on the offside, with four cabinets and a drawer, plus upper accommodation alongside the microwave. As in all Xplore models, an Omnivent extractor fan is standard.
