The AA Campsite of the Year awards recognise excellence in campsites. Annually they award the title of National and Regional Campsites of the Year to sites in recognition of exceptionally high standards, service and presentation. Such things as customer care, the toilets, the pitches and other site facilities are evaluated. To shortlist a potential winner the inspector looks at recent improvements and innovations that make the park stand out from the crowd, as well as considering the overall quality of the park.
For 2012 the winners are:
- England & Overall: Ross Park, Newton Abbot, Devon
- Scotland: Skye Camping & Caravanning Club, Edinbane
- Wales: Islawrffordd Caravan Park, Tal Y Bont
- South West England: South Lytchett Manor Caravan & Camping Park, Lytchett Minster
- South East England: Tanner Farm Touring Caravan & Camping Park, Marden
- Heart of England: Two Mills Touring Park, North Walsham
- North West England: Riverside Caravan Park, High Bentham
