Why it's a winner

Amid manufacturers’ quests for ways of reducing caravan weights, the award for Best Lightweight Caravan is arguably one of the most important.

When we defined the Highly Commended shortlist for this award we scrutinised caravans with MTPLM figures under 1500kg. But this award isn’t simply about figures. It’s about recognition of how well a caravan performs for the market for which it’s designed.

All three contenders gaining high marks in all scoring sectors. The six-berth Xplore edged slightly ahead of its stiff competition, though. This new model, with bunk beds and a side dining area, is brilliantly designed for great family holidays.

Our judges scored it highly on practical aspects, and also on appearance, its sunny-holiday hues of turquoise creating a lively image with strong appeal.
