Judges praised the campsite’s exceptional standards, warm hospitality and strong commitment to sustainable tourism, calling it a deserving winner of the category’s top honour.
Located near the postcard-perfect village of Witheridge on the edge of Dartmoor, Yeatheridge Farm Caravan Park has been welcoming guests for more than 50 years. Set within 200 acres of the Hosegood family’s sheep and beef farm, it is now run by third-generation owners, James and Colette Hosegood.
The campsite offers pitches for motorhomes, touring caravans and tents, as well as luxury holiday caravans for hire or private ownership. Facilities include an indoor pool with waterslide, two fishing lakes, and opportunities to meet the farm animals. Guests can also enjoy a family restaurant and bar, plus a shop selling essentials and local produce, including fresh meat from the farm. Children are well catered for with a soft play area and adventure playpark, and the campsite is dog friendly.
James Hosegood said that Yeatheridge Farm has long attracted visitors seeking a tranquil and peaceful setting, and who share a love of the natural world. He commented,
There is an amazing range of woodland and country trails around the park, and the chance to spot some of the abundant wildlife which the area sustains. We endeavour to make our park a match for these glorious surroundings, and it's wonderful to have our efforts recognised at the Devon Tourism Awards.
We're delighted, too, that judges highlighted the levels of hospitality and the warmth of welcome which visitors enjoy when they stay at Yeatheridge Farm. Delivering this is very much in the hands of our fantastic park team, so they also deserve a large share of the credit for helping us achieve this award.
