Winners of the Best European Campsites 2024 announced

Best European campsites announced by The Caravan and Motorhome Club

If you're on the hunt for an award-winning European campsite this summer, the Caravan and Motorhome Club, together with Alan Rogers, have recently announced the best European campsites 2024.

The winners were revealed at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show, held at the NEC Birmingham in February. A shortlist was compiled by members of the Club’s and Alan Rogers’ campsite teams, along with other experts from the outdoor leisure industry. The judges also took into account feedback from customers and campsite assessors, and the winning campsites were chosen for their high quality, incredible facilities, and commitment to providing excellent services.

For the 2024 awards there were 11 categories, including those essential to holidaymakers such as campsites for families, those with dog-friendly facilities, and those having sustainability and environmental awareness.

The overall winner of the Caravan and Motorhome Club Award went to Grubhof in Austria which is surrounded by alpine views and offers superb facilities. Azur Camping, which has five campsites across southern Germany received the Alan Rogers Travel Service Award.

Other awards included The Most Attractive Campsite Award, presented to Le Capeyrou in France which is set at the foot of medieval Beynac castle and bordered by the Dordogne River, and The Most Accessible Award, given to a French site with state-of-the-art, all accessible facilities, Le Chateau de l’Eperviere.

Holidays with dogs and with children are a large part of European holidays and the dog-friendly award-winner was Camping La Garangeoire in France, whose 200-acre, tree-filled location is perfect for dogs.

If travelling with children, Camping Koningshof in the Netherlands offers indoor and outdoor pools and playgrounds, a daytime entertainment programme, and a skate area, and was the winner of The Family Award category.

These awards highlight the fantastic services offered by our European campsite partners to provide our members and non-members with an unforgettable campsite experience. We truly appreciate the hard work carried out by our European campsites, with whom we continue to have a close relationship. We look forward to achieving more success in the coming months with more partners across Europe, offering our tourers more choice and flexibility.
