Rosetta Holiday Park

Set in the fifty-acre grounds surrounding a late Georgian mansion, the Rosetta Holiday Park is an unusual campsite in that the tent and holiday home pitches offer great views of the surrounding hills, which give it a real rural feel, yet is only a ten minute walk from the town centre of Peebles. Here you'll find a Tesco supermarket and, on the main street, all manner of cafes, pubs, delis, teashops, gift shops, antique shops and clothes shops. In fact pretty much anything you need is a few minutes walk away.

The campsite offers grass pitches with some hardstanding pitches available on request. There are two toilet blocks servicing these motorhome and caravan pitches. Tall trees surround the campsite and if you walk uphill you'll see an unusual castle-like structure which is home to a further toilet block and also offers an unusual courtyard area.

Here you'll also find a bar and restaurant in a converted barn, as well as a cafe that serves breakfasts, a TV room and a games room. To the rear is a laundry room which is handily located directly opposite the separate tent field. The tent field is on gently sloping grass and its elevated setting gives fantastic views of the surrounding countryside.

There is lots to do on park during the day with arts and crafts for the kids along with giant garden games, outdoor activities including wildlife walks or just say hello to the resident horses Jasper and Charlie who are a park favourite. And for the evenings take a turn on Karaoke or join in our theme nights and quizzes.

The surrounding hills will appeal to both walkers and cyclists alike, with mountain bikers well catered for too, with lots of challenging trails being nearby. Thoughtfully, a mountain-bike washing area has been installed.

On a tier above the tent field is a holiday home area, with the very highest tier of the whole site being devoted to the newly-developed holiday lodges, which offer stunning scenic views from their spacious balconies.

There is plenty to do in Peebles itself and golf fans will be pleased to note that the campsite is right next to Peebles golf course. There's a local bus stop just opposite the campsite entrance, while buses to Edinburgh can be caught from the town centre. Edinbugh is about 20 miles away and if you don't fancy taking the bus, you're probably best driving to the outskirts and then using the Park and Ride schemes - parking in the city centre is always at a premium.
