The setting of this campsite is quite stunning, nestling in a valley between Welsh hills on a working farm. The owners are quite happy for people to walk over their land and through the adjoining woods so there are plenty of places to exercise dogs and innumerable walking opportunities.
Although the campsite is large, it is divided by hedges and a stream, which creates an intimate, quiet feeling. The toilets and showers were brand new in 2012. There are five large showers, privacy cubicles and two family rooms, with baby changing facilities. There are also disabled facilities, a laundry and washing up area. The reception stocks all the essentials and sells local produce from the farm. There is also an information room which also has fridges and freezers for campers' use along with a microwave and telephone charging.
Builth Wells, which is five miles away is well worth a visit, with some interesting shops and buildings – but especially as here can be found a café that will admit well-behaved dogs! Even better, there is a footpath into the town from the site.
Activities in the area are plentiful. These include the leisurely-paced walking and rambling to the more active mountain biking and paragliding. Golf, fishing, birdwwatching and horse riding are also easily available too.
