Black Swan Country Park

The Black Swan Country Park is situated in the Yorkshire Dales with stunning 40-mile views over the Vale of York. The park offers a traditional Public House with bistro serving locally-produced food and drink.

Unusually, the campsite and public house are run by the 3rd generation of the McCourt family, an established business since 1955 providing customer comfort and that personal service that is all too often forgotten on larger holiday parks.

Amongst the local attractions; Black Sheep and Theakstons Breweries are within walking distance and are well worth visiting. Lightwater Valley theme park is only 15 minutes away and York with all its history is only a 45-minute drive.

Campsite facilities include 50 caravan and motorhome pitches, 50 tents pitches and 60 electric hook-up points. There is a small toilet block with a couple of showers, disabled facilities and a washing-up area. This block is basic but clean. It's not the facilities you come to this campsite for though - it's the peace and quiet and uninterrupted views across the rolling Yorkshire countryside - and the delicious food served at the on-site restaurant and pub too. There are also 12 ensuite bedrooms in a building attached to the pub. Totally modernised and designed to a high standard inside, these rooms are perfect for if the whole family wants to have a holiday here but not everyone is a fan of camping. Off site facilities include a food shop, golf, horse riding and fishing - all within a two mile radius - with an indoor heated pool and an outdoor heated pool being within 10 miles.

With the campsite being located in a quiet little unheard of corner the Yorkshire Dales it is in an ideal location to explore and discover the dales. If a visit to a city or bustling town is the order of the day both Whitby and York are within driving distance. Castle Howard is a magnificent 18th Century House and 10,000 acre estate that is well worth a day out to visit.
