The caravan and camping park is run on an informal basis, the site is divided into two main areas one for camping and one for caravans, giving you the freedom to choose your own spot anywhere in the camping or caravan area.
Whether you choose a sheltered spot amongst the sand dunes or a spot with a view across the Minch, the choice is yours, on this 55 acre site. Wherever you set up, the award-winning beach is a stone's throw away.
Next to the reception is a licensed grocery shop open from April to October selling freshly baked bread, newspapers, groceries, caravan and camping equipment, toys, books, kites, camping and calor gas.
On site there is a laundry, a covered indoor cooking and eating area, a games room, play area, slipway and dog walking area. Bikes and kayaks can be hired and loch and river fishing is available.
Facilities on site include three heated toilet and shower blocks, providing ample facilities. There's also disab;ed facilities, 70 electric hook-ups, a chemical disposal and a motorhome service point.
The area surrounding Sands offers many varied and unique activities for the whole family. On the first Saturday of July every year Sands hosts the Gairloch Highland Gathering. With events including a hill race, heavy athletics and a pet parade, as well as a ceilidh and dance at night, it has become an annual highlight for locals and tourists alike and is the ideal opportunity to experience the vibrancy of the Gairloch Area.
