Leaving the A55 it only takes about a minute to enter the neat tarmac holding area that feeds into Bron-Y-Wendon's main campsite.
The first thing you'll notice is the sea view, which is an uninterrupted panoramic view of Colwyn Bay and easily visible from the majority of pitches thanks to clever terracing.
The reception area is in a neat modern building that is also home to the showers and loos, as well as the laundry rooms. These are all heated and immaculate, additionally offering shaver points and hairdryers. There are also designated disabled facilities.
There is another standalone toilet block of identical standard (ie excellent!) at the far end of the campsite.A newly developed building opposite the reception block houses yet more toilet and shower facilities, which are the poshest on the park and feature huge shower rooms with spacious changing areas and separate privacy cubicles. The rest of the building is devoted to holiday cottages, which are handy to know about if you have extra family or friends visiting.
The pitches themselves are clustered in neat groups or lines at strategic points about the park, all designed to give good views and a spacious feel. Fresh water points and chemical disposalpoints are conveniently placed around the campsite. However, it's the neatness of the flower borders, the well-groomed shrubs and the fantastic views that create the lasting impression of this campsite and no matter where you look, everything is neat and tidy.
WiFi is available across the campsite for a small fee and there are plenty of tourist information leaflets available from reception (which also stocks gas refills, it's worth noting).
It is surrounded by beautiful scenery, too, with many different villages to visit in the Conwy area, as well as the Snowdonia National Park within driving distance. If you're looking to stay along the coast this is the ideal place for you. Llanddulas beach is down the road and there are many seaside resorts, promenades and piers nearby. The village of Llanddulas itself has shops and pubs. The site is adjacent to the Wales Coast Path and Cycle Route.
