Fishpool Farm Caravan Park

The present owners have owned the land since December 2003, but it wasn't until January 2009 that they decided to convert it into a holiday location. Since then they've worked hard to construct an all-new 50-pitch campsite.

For starters they built a brand-new toilet and shower block that has been neatly clad in wood with a slate roof. This houses toilets, showers and has disabled toilets. The inside of this unit has been kitted out to a high standard and features neat vanity units topped off with marble-effect laminate worktops inset with oval sinks. There are even hairdryers and shaver points fitted, while the showers with mosiac tiling wouldn't look out of place in a posh gym!

The shower block also houses the laundry room and this holds two washing machines and two tumble dryers (these are all coin-operated). For hand-washing clothing there are also sinks provided, together with ironing facilities. Other on-site practicalities include two water fill and waste water points, a chemical disposal point and a recycling area for plastics, tin, paper, cardboard and glass.

After you've visited the on-site shop, you'll be pleased to note that there's also a dedicated picnic area on site to allow you to scoff what you've just bought!

Chester city centre is the nearest large town to the site (and has an excellent park and ride system) and offers all sorts of pleasant shops, many of which are housed in historic black and white timber-framed buildings. The walls are also worth walking around and give an elevated view of this attractive city. On the outskirts of the city if Chester Oaks, a large designer outlet that shopping fans will love. There are alo many great places to eat in Chester, too.

Closer to the site - accessed via a gate is the Fishpool Inn which serves food. Also within walking distance of the site is the Abbey Arms, which offers alfresco dining.

There are many local farms selling Cheshire produce nearby, too, while local markets are held once a month in Tarporley. This small town also has a selection of other local shops and is close to the Oulton Park racetrack. There's also a weekly market held in Frodsham every Thursday.

The proximity of Delamere Forest will be the appeal for many visitors to the site and as it's only two miles away you can either walk or cycle to it, without having to move your vehicle once you're pitched up.
