Mannix Point is set on the stunning coast of the Ring of Kerry in the south west of Ireland, warmed by the Gulf Stream and facing across the bay to the delightful island of Valentia. Surrounded on three sides by hills and mountains, it offers wonderful views in every direction. The campsite is well planted with flowers, shrubs, and trees, and there is an abundance of wild flowers.

Located 300 metres off the N70 Ring of Kerry Road on the western side of the pleasant town Cahirciveen, it is just a 15 minute walk away from its shops, pubs, restaurants, galleries and entertainment including traditional music and dancing. The nearest restaurant and bar is actually just a five minute walk.

The campsite offers 42 pitches (35 with 10amp electric), most of which have great views of the coastline. The toilet and shower area has been refurbished and there’s a very well-equipped kitchen and dining room as well as a wash-up and laundry – there’s no need to bring cooking equipment or crockery.

The rustic outside dining area is set in a beautiful garden. In addition there is a separate BBQ and picnic lawn suitable for groups. A highlight is the campers’ sitting room, warmed on cooler evenings by a traditional turf fire. Mannix Point is well known by musicians, and impromptu sessions where everyone is invited to join in are a feature of the park. A piano, two guitars, percussion and tin whistle are available, but you are encouraged to bring your own instruments.

This campsite is a popular location for Duke of Edinburgh Award groups, venture scouts and kayak enthusiasts. It is also a location for club rallies (contact Mortimer for great rally prices).

Mannix Point caters for family tents, small tents, motorhomes and caravans with or without electricity. There are many photos of the campsite and the wider are on the website and an annual photo competition is staged. Book now to ensure a waterside pitch.

Dogs are welcome, and can be exercised on the stone strand adjoining the park but must be kept on leads while on the campsite.

The whole campsite benefits from the personal touch of the owner, Mortimer Moriarty. There is a noticeably friendly feeling throughout the park with many visitors returning annually. The visitor’s book is testament to the enjoyment of people across the world from being part of this convivial atmosphere. The site also holds a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for 2013, 2014 and 2015.

The location offers plenty of outdoor leisure activities, including watersports, archaeological sites, hill, mountain and foreshore walks, sub-tropical gardens, fishing, blue-flag beaches, horse riding, bird watching, and spectacular cycle and car tours, all in clean Atlantic air. It is the nearest camping park to the departure port for boats to the Skelligs (a Unesco World Heritage Site)

Mannix Point has won 18 national and international awards including the Award of Excellence, Best Park in Ireland, Greatest Ambassador for the Sector and Best Welcome in Europe.

Pre-booking is essential for The Cahirciveen Festival of Music and the Arts, every year on the August Irish Bank Holiday weekend (when three nights minimum is require). The campsite offers free WiFi.
