Survey reveals 42% of Brits go camping

According to the results of a recent survey by ecommerce online shopping site, Ubuy, 42% of UK adults go camping at least once a year, with one in 25 pitching up a tent every month

The survey of 2,000 UK adults also found that 25 to 34-year-olds camp most often, with an average 2.79 trips per year, followed by those aged 16 to 24 (2.53 trips per year).

And, according to the survey results, Londoners are the UK’s most avid camping fans, with more than half of the respondents living in Greater London going camping at least once a year – more than those in any other UK region.

The research also looked into Google searches for camping locations, revealing the Lake District to be the UK’s most popular camping spot, with 42,600 searches made per month over the last year, followed by Cornwall (31,900 searches) and the New Forest (31,100).

In general, search volumes for the term ‘campsites’ is also said to have increased by 171% between July 2021 and July 2022.
